            While driving along Cullman County 91 today for the first time in many years, I came across this stretch of road that winds through what used to be an old strip mine.  This mine was running back before laws were put in place that force mining companies to reclaim the land with vegetation and trees instead of just leaving it to be a barren location.

I was happy to see that this area now has all this wispy sage grass, trees, and other vegetation to prevent major runoff.  Sometimes, big companies will do what they are supposed to do without government intervention.
