East Shoreham Railroad Bridge (1897) - interior

East Shoreham, Vermont USA • Repair details from the 2007 improvements. • Built using the Howe Truss design, at 109' long, spanning the Lemon Fair River, south of Richville, by the Rutland Railroad, as a branch of the Addison Branch line which transported dairy products and livestock from Shoreham to markets in Boston and the West. • It is a National Registered Engineering Landmark. • It was restored in 1983, and repaired and re-roofed in 2007 by its owner: the State of Vermont, managed by the Division of Historic Preservation. • The bridge has been on the National Register of Historic Places (#74000198), since 1974.
