            When we headed out on our Columbia River Gorge photo trip, Punch Bowl Falls was at the top of my list of must get shots. I had seen countless photos of it while researching the area and knew I had to come back with a shot. 

After hiking a little over 2 miles we finally arrived at the location and were not disappointed. It's a really popular location and since the water level wasn't super high there was a large rocky wash alongside the creek that was easily accessible and there were a couple of dozen people already there when we arrived.

The falls are visible from the very edge of the wash, but to really get a view like this I was glad we'd brought the waders so we could step out into the waist deep water and line up the shot the way I wanted it. I think we might have annoyed some of the folks trying to get shots from the edge of the wash as we were in their shots but we weren't going home without the shot we set out for.
