Hohes Schloss und Kloster St. Mang in Füssen ~ EXPLORE

            Das Benediktinerkloster St. Mang in Füssen wurde in der ersten Hälfte des 9. Jahrhunderts errichtet. Die Gründung geht zurück auf das Wirken des Einsiedlers Magnus. Das gotische Hohe Schloss der Bischöfe von Augsburg liegt auf einem Hügel über der Altstadt. Das große Burgschloss gilt als eine der am besten erhaltenen mittelalterlichen Burganlagen Bayerns.

Hohes Schloss and St. Mang monastery in Füssen in the Allgäu. The Benedictine monastery of St. Mang in Füssen was built in the first half of the 9th Century. The foundation goes back to the work of the hermit Magnus. The High Gothic castle of the bishops of Augsburg is located on a hill above the old town. The large Castle is considered one of the best preserved medieval castles in Bavaria.
