Red Crown_mono - a photo on Flickriver

Red Crown_mono

            I recently did a short road trip to a small town about an hour from home. I started back after dark and as I drove through a place named Panama, I saw an old 1930s Red Crown Gas station lit up. I pulled off the highway and parked.

Often, I'll see something by the road and wonder whether to stop. If I return later, I find it's not the same. Now, I stop whenever I can.

I set up the tripod and started bracketing shots. I heard a truck pull up behind me and the driver asked if he could help me. I asked if he knew anything about the building. He said it was just a the place where he kept some of his cars! I was talking to the owner. Only in a small town! I gave him my card and told him I would be posting images. 

Most people are still friendly in small towns!
