'Dreaming of peace and unity in the paradise of Maastricht'

Mr. Monster walked slowly in the area of the former Enci quarry. It was his second time visiting the old factory terrain in a couple of years, but this time his senses were more heightened. He looked around, taking in all the details. Mr. Monster was again mesmerized by the beauty of the area. He noticed how the sun made the blue green water sparkle and glimmer. The adventurous traveler was also intrigued how the rays illuminated its depths. He imagined the world in a similar state of peace and harmony. He felt a sense of deep connection to the environment, and to nature as a whole. As Mr. Monster walked, he thought of the future of the area. He was thinking how it could be used to promote peace and unity. He smiled to himself, feeling the power of this thought. While the preparations for the big performance of world star Andre Rieu were in full swing in the cozy center of the city, Mr. Monster imagined himself in a paradise at the former marl quarry. The paradise of Maastricht. The city where Rieu first saw the light of day.

Het was de tweede keer dat Marco de voormalige Enci groeve bezocht. Vorige keer nam hij een aantal foto's ervan en postte hij ze hier op Flickr. De avonturier verzamelde de bijzondere geschiedenis van het indrukwekkende gebied en verwerkte dat in de omschrijvingen. Deze keer wilde hij vooral genieten en zich even niet met geschiedenis bezig houden. Toen hij het blauw-groene water zag, werd hij net als die eerste keer weer betoverd door de schoonheid ervan. Marco voelde zich op dat moment spiritueel verbonden met de omgeving rond het prachtige meer. Door de schittering van de zon op het water, kreeg de kleur ervan zelfs een magische uitstraling. Hij dacht aan vrede en eenheid in de wereld. Terwijl in het gezellige centrum van de stad de voorbereiding voor het grote optreden van André Rieu in volle gang was, waande Marco zich bij de voormalige mergelgroeve in het paradijs. Het paradijs van Maastricht. De schilderachtige stad aan de maas in het diepe zuiden van Nederland waar de wereldberoemde Rieu zijn eerste levenslicht zag.
