Spomenik, Fruska Gora - a photo on Flickriver

            Spomenik Slobode, Fruska Gora

Freedom is the name of the monument on Iriški venac. It was erected in honor of fallen fighters and is a symbol of the People's Liberation Struggle against fascism in the Second World War. It was discovered in 1951, and the author is sculptor Sreten Stojanović. The monument is dominated by a tall obelisk on top of which is a representation of a woman - the embodiment of freedom - with her arms raised high as a gesture calling for an uprising.
