NJ Transit's Erie Lackawanna heritage unit rolls over the former CNJ main line east of Fanwood station. There was a brief time from 1972-76 when through freight trains ES-99/SE-98 would put EL power on the CNJ regularly (and vice versa), which is referenced by the title. Today, the NJ Transit owned portion of the line is almost devoid of freight, though its trains get to share trackage with the CSAO Lehigh Line east of Cranford to reach Newark Penn Station.
