            I have been spending time sorting out my art work of so many years ago. And as I sort through everything, I have been taking photos of some of the work, framed or unframed, hanging or stored in cupboards and the paper storage unit. 
I started when I was most ill - deciding that I'd go right back to the beginning, and teach myself how to draw. Pencil and paper were easiest to use while restricted to bed. As I learned and became more skilled I always kept pencil (graphite) and charcoal and Conte crayons in my 'vocabulary'. I had to look to photos, newspapers, magazines and books for my images .... and I did a lot of studies from Old Master drawings too. And, being me, I spent a whole lot of time on the thing I found most challenging/difficult which was portrait ;o))
 
So I thought I'd upload a pencil study of Anne, a friend and colleague of mine when I taught Secondary school on The Black Isle, which is close to Inverness, in the Scottish Highlands, and about 100 miles north of where we live now.
