            East Ham, London - October 2020

I went out with my tripod at night. There was no wind; it was a still, mild autumnal evening. There were very few people around because of lockdown (although we weren’t in the 2nd full December lockdown yet - I lose track). The shop in the picture had its lights on but the door was locked. The owner had popped out. The men were waiting for him to appear. I positioned my tripod and took the shot. I was hoping it was going to work out because I liked the lighting and the reds and greens. Something Hopperesque (painter Edward Hopper) was captured as a friend pointed out on Instagram. I’m happy with that as I love Hopper’s work.
