Tranquility on the Horizon - a photo on Flickriver

It seems the better I feel the busier I get... Over the last few weeks I've been all over the place, with various parties needing me for many different endeavors. I'm looking forward to next week though, simply because I have nothing planned!

I'll be able to tackle some projects that have been on the back burner, and process some more photos that require a little more attention, time and careful consideration before I consider them 'upload worthy'. Perhaps my standards are too high, I know most people will never zoom into 100% to find editing mistakes, but if they are there, they bug me. I cant have that! People are often shocked to learn how much time I spend on post processing, but when the muse visits I just zone out and immerse myself in the photo... As per my obsessive post processing style, I quite often spend copious amounts of time at 400% fixing little bits here and there. Time flies when you are looking at individual pixels ;-)

This shot is a much needed look ahead, given the events of recent weeks I need things to look forward to. This was taken several months ago, and it has been an ongoing process getting it to the stage where I felt comfortable sharing it. The main issue was a series of power-lines that crossed right in the middle of the frame, along with a bit of ghosting here and there... This photo goes out to my good friend Zaytia, who visited me back in February. On the night in question, we were returning to Queenstown under this magical sunset, and I couldn't resist the chance to fire off a few brackets, that and Zay was interested to see how I do what I do.

The location is Gibbston, as locals of Queenstown will recognize... On the left is Chard Farm, and to the right is the state highway leading into town. Down the middle is the Kawarau river, carving an eternal trench through this amazing landscape. Here are two other photos from last year, taken on the same river just a few kilometers downstream:
