Therese Beholds "Jah Defender" Installation

            Just for Mardi Gras, Big Chief Demond Melancon of the Young Seminole Hunters installed his suit where a statue of some Confederate dude used to stand. It was a big improvement, in my opinion, even if it was for only one day, and a wonderful surprise for us as we made our little parade through Mid-City. I was intrigued to discover the suit has a title, as well it should, for it's surely a work of art. It's called "Jah Defender," and it pays tribute to Haile Selassie and the Rastafarian tradition.
