Svimjihøllin í Klaksvík - The Swimming Hall of Klaksvik, Faroe Islands

This photo was taken in Klaksvík in September 2010. Klaksvík is the largest town in the Northern Islands (Norðoyggjar) in the Faroe Islands. Klaksvík is the second largest town in the Faroe Islands. The population of Klaksvík is 4600. The population of the Northern Islands was 5869 on 1 June 2010. The Northern Islands are: Kallsoy, Kunoy, Borðoy (Bordoy), Viðoy (Vidoy), Svínoy, Fugloy. Klaksvík is located on Borðoy island. Klaksvík is connected with the village Leirvík on Eysturoy island by a subsea tunnel. Eysturoy Islands is connected with Streymoy island with a bridge. One can drive from Tórshavn to Klaksvík, it takes around 1 hour and 15 minutes.

This building is the Swimming Hall of Klaksvík. There are three pools. In the weekend two of the pools are warm. The largest pool is 25 meters long and Ægir Swimming Association trains here.
