Klaksvík, the Second Largest Town in the Faroe Islands

The population of Klaksvík is 4600. The population of the Northern Islands was 5869 on 1 June 2010. The Northern Islands are: Kallsoy, Kunoy, Borðoy (Bordoy), Viðoy (Vidoy), Svínoy, Fugloy. Klaksvík is located on Borðoy island. Klaksvík is connected with the village Leirvík on Eysturoy island by a subsea tunnel. Eysturoy Islands is connected with Streymoy island with a bridge. One can drive from Tórshavn to Klaksvík, it takes around 1 hour and 15 minutes.
