Robin waiting for a train at Warwick Parkway Station

After a walk along the Grand Union Canal from Warwick Station (got on on the Coventry Road), I got off at the Hatton Bottom Lock so I got get a train back to Solihull from Warwick Parkway Station.

Spent around half an hour waiting for my train.

Warwick Parkway is a railway station with Park and Ride facilities on the western outskirts of Warwick in Warwickshire, England. It also serves the village of Budbrooke. It is owned by Chiltern Railways, making it one of the few stations on the National Rail system not owned by Network Rail.

Warwick is also served by the older Warwick railway station in the town centre.

Warwick Parkway was opened on 25 October 2000. It was opened with Park and Ride facilities alongside the A46 and A4177 roads in order to encourage commuters to use the train, and to compensate for the lack of parking spaces at the nearby Warwick and Leamington Spa stations. It was financially supported by Warwickshire County Council. Planning permission was given for the station in March 1999, following a public inquiry in October 1998.
