Church Restoration - a photo on Flickriver

Church Restoration

             This Greek Revival building in Lagrange, Indiana was originally built as a Presbyterian church in 1853. In 1910 it was purchased and repurposed as a repair shop that until recently still had a shop addition on the side. A friend who used to live in Lagrange called the building to my attention and I decided to take a drive to the town to see if it was still there. It does remain but the shop addition has been removed, I assume a first step in it being restored. This view shows the windows of the original church though the removal of the shop reveals only a blank wall on the other side. My first thought was that I was happy to see it being restored but kind of miss the century old life it had as a repair shop.
