T-Town Dusk - a photo on Flickriver

T-Town Dusk

T-Town is local lingo for Tacoma, WA in the NW USA. There's a bit of Puget Sound in the background. It might look like a drone shot but actually just taken from the Pacific Avenue hill. I've tried this shot a few times before but never hit the light right, and then they had it all torn up for a long time building the new I-5 overpass. It gets windy up there and the challenge here was just shooting the long exposure between gusts. The very bright Hoya HD3 polarizer kept the light warm, increased saturation in the sky, and the dark cloud fitting over the crane was just a serendipitous happening. That 70-200E lens continues to impress and I'm seeing things I haven't seen before and I see strange things. :)
