Echeveria 0298 - a photo on Flickriver

            I went out today with only the SX40 to see if something was wrong with my SX50. I "shot" the same flowers over again, and had much better results ... or at least I think so. I went an hour earlier. I took my time when shooting. I tried and succeeded with this vignetting right out of the viewfinder! 

Now, all I have to do is remember to get them off the card and into the computer ... and recharge the battery for a third try tomo... Saturday. I have another example of this cactus flower at a different exposure which I'll post next month.

In the meantime, this is another quarter inch, five petaled flower, on a stalk with perhaps 20 others, and shooting up from a cactus which looks like a hen of "hens and chicks" succulent. It's possible that this is a Pedilanthus Bracteatus 'Tall Slipper' Plant.

P.S. While all cacti are considered to be succulents, there are succulents that are not cacti.
