Ballooning by Crawford - a photo on Flickriver

            124/365.   Spent the evening chasing this around. Wouldn't it be cool to see the Battlefield this way? 

Really just happenstance. I've only ever seen one other in the recent past and that all but crash landed in a backyard on Herr's Ridge. 
Those who are familiar with Gettysburg, I'll expain. I was coming in the York Rd and saw it go over town, as it happens I was headed out the Emmittsburg Rd for my nightly ride over the Battlefield and it was just floating by Seminary ridge above West Confederate. I stopped a few places, but really stopped and watched it come over the Sherfy House. This was really cool, some how I was in a vacuum, there were no cars coming and it was Dead silent, all of a sudden I could hear the whoosh of the gas being sent up into the balloon and it just kept floating by (this was almost a goosebumps moment). 

I followed then and watched it go over the Rose Farm and Rose woods. I went down Wheatfield road and came across Crawford Ave, where I got this shot. It was headed quickly past Devils Den and South of BRT, rounding DD I just saw it go behind the tree line. It was a fairly windless quiet night, not too hot. It was really atomospheric!
