 any way he got out of the Navy after WW II, w/ winnings of 10,000 dollars in a poker game before de-boarding the ship, and he set up his shop, renting 16mm film cameras, Bolex and that, to Chrysler for whatever, advertising...

what a guy, what a shop, two storefronts w/ so much equiptment you only had about a 6x8' ft area to stand, he would go away into the shop and come back w/ a box or two of incredible equiptment
my leica from john was stolen w/ my other Linhof 4x5 in new orleans...along w/ 500 negs  and i go on 

to be a photographer in any inner city was not a winning proposition....


its a long story no matter where i start
