Game of Chances

whatever they said wasn't meant for me
it was the waves without the ocean
the salt without the sea
they sewed it to my skin
the mask of a tin man
tears tearing through
my veins in double lanes
if you only had a heart
if I only had a brain
there'd be nothing missing
but we'd be painfully the same
with nothing to offer
but ourselves in return
there'd be nothing to teach
but there'd be nothing to learn
it's a game of chances
we give forgiveness
and we always take our turn
