            PanAm Boeing 707-321B N492PA prepares to roll on Heathrow's runway 28R one spring day in the 70s.

This particular aircraft was retired from the fleet in 1979, and eventually scrapped at JFK in 1984.

Of course, today, airliners are seldom scrapped at major airports. Licences have to be secured and really the economics make more sense at otherwise quiet airfields which often provide medium term storage facilities too.
