HTM - Alstom RegioCitadis, 4010, tram 4, Station Laan van NOI (Den Haag)

            Due to track maintenance near the Beatrixkwartier stop in The Hague, tram lines 3 and 4 (the RandstadRail lines that connects The Hague with Zoetermeer) are split in two: tram line 3 runs between Loosduinen and Station Laan van NOI (where it uses the turning loop that is located at street level) and between Leidschenveen and Zoetermeer Centrum-West (the route of the former railway line that was transformed to the current light rail standards in 2005 and 2006). Line 4 runs between De Uithof and Laan van NOI (also the turning loop at the street level), while the upper stop (which is the standard stop for line 3 and 4 and that is also in use for metro line E that connects The Hague with Rotterdam) is being used for the Station Laan van NOI – Zoetermeer Javalaan connection. To cope with the increase number of travelers on tram line 4, the Zoetermeer-section of the line is operated by coupled RegioCitadis trams. 

At Laan van NOI tram line 4 terminates at the main track. As a result, the trams of line 4 can block the metros of line E as both lines are running in different frequencies. In this photo the coupled RegioCitadis trams are changing tracks and after a few stop at Laan van NOI they will return to Zoetermeer Javalaan.
