Cul-de-sac modern

            I can discover nothing of this pleasing development of modern houses hidden away in a cul-de-sac of suburban Norwich.  The situation could be described as "transitional".  In one direction are quiet, leafy avenues and desirable residences set back in spacious grounds.  In the other, satellite dishes, wheelie bins and rotary clothes lines.  In spirit these dwellings clearly belong among the former, although a rank of laundrettes and convenience stores, with flats above and lock-up garages to the rear, comes up to their very walls.
What would you say?  60s?  70s?  I've said it before and I'll say it again, houses need a few decades to mature, and now that their surroundings have grown up, these are looking very good.  I shot this in colour, but the sun got into the lens, leaving a purplish circle of "flare" among the trees in the upper middle of the photo.  Luckily this became unnoticeable when rendered into black & white.
