Leeds tram No. 278 aerial view glass slide

An old (early 1900s) glass lantern slide showing Leeds City Tramways (LCT) car No. 278. I think that this has been taken from the roof of Bramley Depot (track/road layout looks right) looking over at the school opposite, at the junction of Lower Town Street, Stanningley Road, and Henconner Lane.

No. 226 was an open top car built by Dick Kerr seating 22/34 running on a Brill 21E truck and going into service Mar 1901. It received a top cover in Mar 1907 and was withdrawn from service in Dec 1930.

The parts of the Leeds tramways systems that had not already been withdrawn or transferred to bus operation closed in Nov 1959.
