South Lancs Transport trolleybus No. 69

            An old amateur photograph (just 3" x 2") taken at the Spinning Jenny Street trolleybus terminus in Leigh, of South Lancashire Transport (SLT) trolleybus No. 69 (registration HTD866) showing a 'Bolton' destination blind.

No. 69 was new to SLT in Oct 1948 comprising a Sunbeam MS2 triple axle chassis No. 60004 and a Weymann highbridge body No. M3164 seating 64 (H34/30R).

It was withdrawn from service when the trolleybus system closed on 31 Aug 1958 with all trolleybus ownership transferring to the local Passenger Transport Executive, in the December it was scrapped by TPE (Transport (Passenger Equipments)).
