Yosemite Falls Light Trail Planning Simulation

This is an image I used to plan my shots for the moonbow adventure. When I was on Sentinel Dome in February to photograph the firefall, I shot a 50mm shot toward Yosemite Falls. Later, using Google Earth and a GPS track from a previous hike up Yosemite Falls, I visualized where the trail was located and drew it onto this image. Finally, I looked up the fields of view of various focal lengths and drew them onto this.

Based on this image, I decided what lenses to obtain and carry up to Sentinel Dome for the shoot. I hauled the following six setups up for the shoot:
- 16 mm (for star trails including Polaris)
- 35 mm cropped to 16x9 and used for a wide timelapse video
- 50 mm
- 90 mm (actually 56 mm on 1.6 crop) cropped to 16x9 and used for a tight timelapse video
- 100 mm horizontal
- 100 mm vertical
