War Memorial - a photo on Flickriver

War Memorial

            Taken contre-jour the sun was so strong that the autofocus locked onto the internal lens reflections. After converting the original infrared b&w to negative and processing my wife remarked that the reflections looked like bloodspots so the decision to tone the image red was made. The picture shows the statue of the soldier as a pale ghost seen through a red haze scattered with blood red spots. I hope the imagery is not too trite.
