Misty Morning in York - a photo on Flickriver

            Another from my misty morning walk.  This is taken from the famous wall that encircles the city in what now constitute three long stretches,  The original wall dates to Roman times but little of that wall remains.  The majority of the remaining walls, which encircle the whole of the medieval city, date from the 12th - 14th century, with some reconstruction carried out in the 19th century and later.  Walking on these historic walls is a wonderful experience, especially on a misty morning where one can imagine the ghosts of ages past.  I have  an particularly "ghostly" image that I'll post soon.
