The new Ricoh GR, sigh. The camera I've been dreaming about for a long, long time... But, no, this wasn't shot on it. I was just going through my old photos, reminding myself how much I love 28mm and how I love to get close with it. The stealth and silence of the GRD has always been a love of mine.

My conundrum? I know I'm going to cave. I've always adored the Ricohs but wanted just a bit better image quality and a higher ISO than 1600. Now it's almost here... What I'm wrestling with, really, is how long can I hold out and where I'm going to buy it?

I want to get it from Marcel, in Paris, champion of Ricoh for even longer than I've been shooting them. But I'll be in the States when it comes out and don't know if I can resist the temptation.

I won't stop shooting rangefinders. I love rangefinders! But sometimes you just want to get closer. And, sometimes, you want something that fits in your pocket or your purse... I have and love the Fuji X100 but haven't used it much as it's just too big for a "little" camera and, I've found, when getting close, I want 28mm. I don't want to step back.
