Steaming in the Jet Stream - a photo on Flickriver

            They say that the Columbia River Gorge is a great place to be windsurfing because of the 'gentle' breezes that blow there. After nearly being blown into the river from the gusts near Maryhill, Washington, we got our shot of the eastbound Southern Pacific 4449 on Burlington Northern, and then hotfooted it to The Dalles for lunch. 

The train was bound for Kennewick and the Washington Central.  The WCRC hosted mainline steam in both 1989 (for the State of Washington Centennial) and 1990.
