            Today the Church’s basil garden, started last year by our youth at the Holy Friday retreat, was refreshed with new soil, seed, and two holdover plants from last year which we hope will come back strong. Our youth wanted to take charge of this project again at this year’s Holy Friday retreat, but because Pascha comes so late in the calendar year in 2024 we wanted to get started in March in order to have basil in time for the Feast of the Elevation of the Holy Cross in September, our community’s Feast Day.
