Studio Lighting (Tricolored Heron) - a photo on Flickriver

            If I were to go back and review all of my bayou bird images captured in this chiaroscuro lighting, I bet close to 90% of them will have been taken within 100 feet of this same spot. The combination of well-placed perches, pleasing backdrops, morning light, and shadow in this stretch of Horsepen Bayou are often close to ideal. Of course, it is all for naught if a cooperative subject, such as this Tricolored Heron in breeding plumage, fails to book a sitting.
