Moraine Morning

            Moraine Lake, Valley of the Ten Peaks, Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada

A very chilly morning with a wind that sliced through all layers.  I honestly didn't even think there was going to be any light show, it was quite cloudy.  But there was just the briefest break in the clouds about 15 minutes after the official sunrise time.  When the sunlight was once again blocked, I forced my numb limbs into action and went on the lovely hike to Consolation Lake.  It was so cold that when I came back and sort of meandered around the shore it had started to snow a wee bit.
I do love this lake.  The ring of mountains (there are more that you can't see in the photo) is like a glorious crown.  And the color of the water is just unbelievable.
