Temple of the four winds - a photo on Flickriver

            This is a folly built in the grounds of Castle Howard near Malton, England.  The house itself was begun c. 1700 and took over 100 years to complete. The builder was Sir John Vanbrugh.  The Howard Family still live at Castle Howard to-day and the house can be seen in my landscapes set. The estate is set in the Howardian hills.
