Híbrido artificial de Mespilus germanica x Crataegus laevigata. Arbusto o árbol pequeño de hoja caduca de hasta 9m. Ramillas vellosas. Hojas de ovadas a obovadas, de 3–7 cm de largo, a menudo lobuladas hacia el ápice, margen con dientes desiguales que apuntan hacia adelante, ambas superficies vellosas; pecíolo de 6–13 cm, piloso. Flores generalmente en pares o tres, terminales en brotes espolones, de 2 a 2,5 cm de ancho; pétalos blancos, cáliz peludo. Fruto de 1 a 1,6 cm de ancho, de esférico a ovoide, de color marrón anaranjado, pulpa harinosa, con sabor a espino y que contiene dos pirenos duros. En Iturraran se encuentra en la zona 5.

Artificial hybrid of Mespilus germanica x Crataegus laevigata. Deciduous shrub or small tree to 9m. Branchlets downy. Leaves ovate to obovate, 3–7 cm long, often lobed towards the apex, margin with uneven, forward-pointing teeth, both surfaces downy; petiole 6–13 cm, hairy. Flowers usually in pairs or threes, terminal on spur shoots, 2–2.5 cm across across; petals white, calyx hairy. Fruit 1–1.6 cm across, spherical to ovoid, orange-brown, flesh mealy, tasting like that of a hawthorn, containing two hard pyrenes. In Iturraran is located in area 5.
