As the storm clears....the milky way rises.....

            For those who saw my horizontal composition of this milky way emerging through some storm clouds.....Here is my vertical composition. I will repeat the story below.
How this photo came to pass....
 April 1 2022  Somewhere out in Utah
Spend most of a day scouting possible compositions that are within an hours hike from the car, and possible in the middle of the night/early morning.
Get out of bed at midnight....(happy you slept for 2 hours)
Drive out to the middle of nowhere and begin hiking to your pre selected spots.
Arrive at 2:00am and try to find the exact location you had scouted to set up 2 different cameras and compositions. Finally get everything set up exactly where you want them and have the wind start howling. Grab one tripod and pray that the other one which is 50 feet away doesn't blow over. Finally relax as the wind subsides. Look up into a sky full of clouds......Realize that all of your hard work has just gone to, well....heck.......Stand under the clouds for the next 3 hours hoping and praying for some clearing. 
Start to see the clouds dissipate.
Look up and see the milky way actually emerging through the clouds. Begin shooting........More images to follow this one as the sky almost completely cleared.

Foreground: ISO 64, 1/13sec, F11 captured as the light illuminated the butte just before sunrise. Nothing is ever moved in between shots.
