Rhythm - a photo on Flickriver

I was happy to find this one. Again. I photographed this very plant 2 years ago and never got it's name and have been looking for it ever since and when I saw it I knew it instantly. It's a distinctive iris. There are 2,000 different types of irises at Presby. They don't all bloom on the same day and die on the same day. From the start when the first flower blooms to the end, where the last flower dies is about 2 months. Some types last longer than others. Peak lasts for about 2 weeks which is when most of the flowers are in bloom. Some have either bloomed and gone by the time peak rolls around or will bloom after peak. This one, at least this year, bloomed way after peak. I usually go to the park at least once a week for two months. Usually more. One year I went 16 times. This year I think I only went 4 or 5 times. The point of all this is that it's a wonder that I was there at the right time to find this particular flower amongst all the flowers there.
