AirVenture 2023 - a photo on Flickriver

            As soon as we arrived at AirVenture 2023 it seemed like there were more people there than last year.  My assumption was correct.  There was a record attendance of 677,000 visitors.  Over 2000 international visitors who bothered to register at the International tent showed visitors from 93 different countries.  There had to be way more that 2000 international visitors because almost everyone that I had a conversation with was from outside the US.  There were over 13,000 campsites filled with 40,000 people camping.  Over 10,000 aircraft.  At Wittman alone, there were 21,883 aircraft operations in the 11-day period from July 20-30, which is an average of 148 takeoffs/landings per hour when the airport was open.  I took this photo early in the morning before the masses of people swarmed in.
