Echeveria agavoides 'Beauty' - a photo on Flickriver

This beautiful Echeveria was in bloom, inspiring me to take a photo. Relatively slow growing and almost never making an offset, the pale leaves held so stiffly always attract comment from from those viewing our modest collection of succulents. BTW, this is the same plant as pictured to the right in this shot.

Also shown is what I believe to be ×Graptosedum 'Calva', though I welcome comment/correction. it is a very fragile plant, dropping it leaves easily just like its parent Graptopetalum, which I try to save and root to create new plantlets (this one is also somewhat slow growing and reticent to offset). The pale yellow flowers often have the red stippling of that parent also.

On the table are cuttings of Crassula rogersii (left) and ×Graptosedum 'Golden Glow' (right).

The botanical illustration is of Cineraria maritima var. fairbairnianum from New and Rare Beautiful Leaved Plants, by Shirley Hibberd, 1869. This was a rare and fleeting variegated dusty miller (now extinct) which, if it was still around, might today be more accurately called Senecio or Jacobaea maritima ‘Fairbairnianum’.
