Sir Isaac Newton's room at Woolsthorpe Manor

            Newton performed many of his experiments in this room and through the window can be seen the famous apple tree connected with his discovery of the law of gravitation - still bearing fruit.

The windmill represents one of his experiments on a model of a working windmill with which he compared the efficiency of power generated by wind, water and mice!  Thus the mouse on the windowsill.

Newton barely passed his exams to enter Cambridge and 8 years later he was one of the leading mathematicians in the world.  Remember calculus?  That was one of Newton's creations and without it, we could not have landed on the moon.
