Footsteps Lodge, The Gambia

Work on the Gambia images has been delayed by the Hoopoe visit to Portland. I'll be saving those images until after the flurry of pictures has died down.
So a quick look at one morning's efforts has revealed this Beautiful Sunbird. (in this instance the word 'Beautiful' is a noun, not an adjective). We were seeing these birds on a daily basis in the grounds of the lodge we were staying at, but they led us a merry dance. Getting a clear shot was one thing, but getting a clear shot with the sun in the right position to illuminate the feathers was quite another. This male was quite confiding for a minute or so and for once I and he were in the right place.
