The 184 gaze

            Bull no. 184 has got his eye on me. Agricultural shows are an annual feature of rural life in Northern Ireland. I haven't been to one for many years, but I had the opportunity to visit one in Ballymoney, Co. Antrim, over the weekend. I had forgotten how popular they are. The show ground was packed on Saturday with families and farmers getting a chance to chat and study the latest machinery and their livestock. The uncharacteristically good weather was a bonus and helped to rekindle my childhood memories of country living.
