This 34-foot lighthouse was originally constructed as a wooden tower in 1828, but that light was swept away by a schooner in 1857. The current lighthouse was forged in France and assembled on site in Erie in 1858. It was moved in 1880 and again in 1940.

The white you see in this image is the ice and snow on the lake. It warmed up here lately but it started to snow a little right now. The crime has been on the rise around here in Erie. There has been a lot of shootings lately. There was a drive-by shooting at a house that is 6 houses away from ours and it was pretty frightening... I counted about 6 rapid shots and the police showed up in about a minute... Guns are out of control around here and it's pretty troubling. Thank God no one have been injured around here but I am getting pretty fed up with all this senseless crime. Take care everyone!
