July 12th, 2015 - Yosemite National Park

            On this day in 2015 we drove from San Francisco to Yosemite national Park.  Here is an extract from my Journal:-

Yosemite was a picture, we stopped at a vantage point to take photos (see above) and were then whisked away to view the Bridle Veil Falls.  There was very little water on the Bridle Veil Falls.  Later we skipped the Yosemite Falls, not everybody in our party was up to a 2 mile walk, besides we were told the falls are little more than a trickle.

With Yosemite Falls off the schedule we walked a trail through a meadow, my first experience of a meadow, and lovely it was too.  Our guide talked about and showed us plants and flowers in the meadow.  I got photos of Showy Milkweed Bush flowers, and Blue Milkweed Beetles.  It's ordinary things like these I want to see just as much as heroic vistas and celebrated places.  

We also came upon raspberry bushes laden with fruit, some of it ripe and ready for the picking.  I could happily spend days exploring Yosemite, it has so much to offer; what a gem this place is.
