Hidden Falls

While driving through Garrapata State Park, Sarah and I stopped by a few overlooks to checkout the views. This one was a total gem. There was a small beaten trail out to a scenic overlook. Somehow we were the only ones to venture out here the entire time.

There was a pebble-rocked cove was two monoliths in the shallow surf. Behind this cove was a small stream flowing into the ocean. To my surprise this stream was being fed by a series of small waterfalls. The most interesting waterfall was this one. I couldn't get a clear view from the trail so I decided to go bouldering and climbed my way down. This was a bit tricky as the bottom of the climb was the stream filled with various small rocks sticking up above the water. I stepped carefully and found several more stable rocks to mount my tripod. I was rewarded with this beautiful water fall that took several turns before emptying into the stream. In addition there was this wet weathered tree trunk laying right in my foreground. Unfortunately there were not as many flowers in the rocks adjacent to the waterfall as I had hoped. I wanted more of the green, red, and yellow to bring contrast to the brown rocks. I guess I can't always have everything.
