#90/365 HPPT Music History! In the 70's there was a successful japanese pop duo featuring Mie & Kie aka Pink Lady. It wasn't till 1979 that they broke over to the US with their first american self titled album. That album included the top 40 disco hit "Kiss In the Dark". In 1980 some brilliant exec at NBC decided to give the 2 japanese girls, who barely spoke enlgish, their own Variety Show. The two were paired up with comedian Jeff Altman. Pink Lady and Jeff, a short-lived American variety show that aired for four weeks on NBC in 1980. The series ranked #35 on TV Guide's Fifty Worst TV Shows of All Time list. There you have it.
