Echinocereus rigidíssimus sp rubispinus

            Esta denominación como dije varias veces, es un  nombre genérico que deriva del griego antiguo: Los botánicos  tenían que usar un idioma que fuese facilmente identificable  y eligieron el Latín...por eso los nombres que nos suenan tan raros ἐχῖνος (equinos), que significa "erizo", y del latín cereus que significa "cirio",  se refiere a sus tallos columnares erizados  es rigidissimus: epíteto latino que significa "la más rígida". Con sus espinas jóvenes de color rojizo ...por eso" rubispinus".    Su flor es rosado intenso y dura algunas veces hasta tres días.
