A nice pair of walking casual running hybrid shoes.
Many YouTube runners trashed them, but the Motiva series shoes are really comfy shoes, especially for long walk sessions and everyday life. Those hardcore running YouTubers cannot understand these shoes are not designed for them but for average casual runners who mostly walk and sometimes run like me. If you are an always beginner type of runner like me, then they work great for you. If you are an advanced runner and looking for real serious running shoes, I think they may not work for you.
They run wide and a bit long, so I went a half size down from my typical Nike Pegasus or AM90 size.
I highly recommend those.
UPDATE: after walking in them for over 200miles and running in them about 60miles.
I think those are very good shoes if you are very stable, but if you have unstable ankles, or some instability issues on your lower legs, then they may feel a bit too soft or trampoline-like unstable. Many people I had try these said they were not for them. For me, they are still comfy shoes, but now I prefer the Adidas Adister 2.0 or NB 1080v13, or Nike Infinity React 4 PRM a bit better than these.
I also love the Asics GT2160 Cream Graphite Grey, which I accidentally bought and really liked for walking and everyday use. I may try their Gel 1130 too.
Now, I am more into NB, Adidas, Nike and Asics than Hoka, Puma and Saucony. I love Saucony the best, but they do not have any service network here. And so, it is too risky to buy their pricey shoes here. NB is the safest, Nike may be the second safest, but I do not like their new stingy exchange policy here and now I am not buying any of their casual sneakers. For me, for real performance like lifting and running, Adidas seem to work the best. For just walking or casual, Reebok, Nike, NB and Asics are all fine. Puma shoes also work great for me, but their customer service is non-existent here.
For walking long, I think there is no better shoe than Adidas Adister 2.0 or NB Revel V4. I also love the Reebok Fury Lite 95 for walking. If you have to get a pair of Nike for walking, then try the Infinity React 4 instead of this series (Motiva).
UPDATE2: I now do not buy many Nike shoes, I find that for the money, NB, Asics and Saucony quality seems to be a bit better than Nike or Adidas. Adidas may be cheapest of the set, but their horrible QC and pathetic resell value really force me to rethink about their products. And Nike apparels are hugely overpriced, and the quality is just as good as or similar to Zara or HM. I think Adidas apparels are good, but I never pay the full retail price for anything they sell now, as I know all their products eventually marked down about 30 to 70 percent.
NB is better and their QC across the lines is more consistent than Nike or Adidas. Even Reebok and Puma seem to be a bit better than Nike or Adidas in terms of QC and material used.
I think I did not review and reassess all of their products' value honestly until I was forced to do so in this spring due to their new silly return and exchange policy here. So, I 've collected so many pairs of Nike shoes that I have never used in my life, but now I know that their shoes have never been worth the money at all. Whenever I like some Adidas or Nike shoes, I just wait a few months to see if they go on sale, if not then forget about them. If they go on sale, then pick them up cheap. Nike Apparels? Forget about them, they are often either tacky or excessively bold with huge swooshes, or simply ugly. The quality is bad, sizing is always inconsistent across the lines. And they treat Asians like slaves, so now I prefer NB, Reebok and Saucony a bit more than Nike or Adidas.
Adidas Apparels are fine for me (for the crazy low prices they offer to the members here), but their running shoes and classic shoes are way too overpriced. Sure, NB shoes are more expensive than both Nike and Adidas, but they are super practical for older men who walk a lot, and they tend to last a bit longer than most Nike or Reebok shoes.
I think NB, Asics, Saucony, Puma and Adidas shoes last a lot longer than Reebok or Nike or Jordan. I may be wrong, but their new exchange policy has really made many of long-term Nike fans here furious. They now never accept exchange of the colors or sizes here. Just ask us to return first and buy it again, if you really like it. As opposed to New generous Adidas exchange policy, they are restricting our shopping freedom. And their new prices here seem to be too high for all silhouettes. Airmax 90 for example, it was like 13200 yen in 2021, now 16500 yen. I never pay this much for the poorly built shoes like the airmax 90. The AF1 was like 11000 yen until 2021, now it is 17400 yen. Ridiculous, right? If we have to pay this much of money for their crappy terribly made shoes (with lots of glue marks or rough paint mistakes), most of rational adults here will move out of the Nike camp and get something else. There are many other options and many of these options are actually better in terms of quality and comfort. I think the odds to get a good pair with those brands are like below:
Nike about 1 good pair out of 15.
Adidas about 1 good pair out of 5.
NB about 1 good pair out of 8.
Asics about 1 good pair out of 8.
Saucony about 1 great pair out of about 5.
Reebok about 1 good pair out of about 6.
Puma, honestly, I never got any defective from them.
Hoka, honestly, I never got any good pair from them online.
Jodan, I never got any terrible pair of Jordan 1 or 4.
Diadora, I almost always get great pairs from them.
So, in my experience, Nike and Hoka are the two worst brands in terms of QC. Jodan seems to be good. Adidas has been great in terms of QC in this year. NB, Asics, Saucony have been all great too. Puma seems to be perfect in this year.
Diadora and Solomon are both great, but I do not buy many shoes from them, so the samples here may be too small compared to my Nike or NB samples.
