A Bite in the Shade (2) - a photo on Flickriver

            
For the sake of comparison, I decided to post a digital picture taken at the same place with the same lens on a different day but at approximately the same time of the day and under similar light.

I tried the best I could to achieve similar tonal values, but the digital image would then look very flat.

The rivalry between digital and analogue always displeased me, actually like any other form of fanaticism, including that of the sports club kind.

It would be ideal for me if cameras had interchangeable sensors, so I could take today an Ilford HP5+ sensor and tomorrow an ADOX Scala one. Digital would then provide the variety of tonal values and gradations that analogue film can offer. Some cameras do this on the jpeg file, but jpeg is a utility, the raw file is the real thing.

Until then I'll have to play both :-)
